The Top Three Recognizable Logos in the World

Logos are used universally to distinguish a company from all the other companies. It acts as a symbol of the company’s vision and mission statements, as well as a trademark that signifies the company as unique and separate. As a result of this need for individuality, there are several unique logos for every single company that does business in the world.  

There are, however, three symbols that are considered the top three logos in the world, representing the international fame and status of the companies they represent. These logos are the Coca-Cola, Nike and Walt Disney logos.  

The Coca-Cola Symbol 

The Coca-Cola symbol is as famous as the Cola Cola Company’s world famous softdrink. The symbol is the word “Coca-Cola” written in Spencerian script, the formal handwriting script used in the United States during the founding of the Coke company.  

It was designed by Frank Mason Robinson, who thought that the two C’s in the company’s name has the aethestic qualities required for successful marketing and thus wrote the company name in Spencerian script with an emphasis on the two C’s. The logo was registered in 1887. 

The Nike “Swoosh” 

The Nike logo is one of the simplest logos ever designed for companies, yet it stands out on its own. Carolyn Davidson designed the logo in 1971 for Blue Ribbon Sports, which was what Nike was formerly known in its founding. It is said that the symbol was not all pleasing to the company’s founders, but was selected because there had been no time to design and choose another.  

The swoosh was made by Davidson to symbolize the Greek goddess Nike, which is the deity for victory in Greece. The imagery proved true as Nike became one of the top brands endorsed by the most successful athletes of our time.  

The Walt Disney Signature 

The Walt Disney signature can be quickly discerned because of the many movies that Disney has produced and released. It is usually imposed in front of a castle, a logo which is used by Disney’s media distribution subsidiary.  

The logo is actually a graphically stylized version of Walter Elias Disney’s signature. Walt is a co-founder of the Walt Disney Company along with his brother Roy. From a virtually unknown animation studio manned by two brothers from Kansas, the Walt Disney Co. has now grown to one of the biggest animation, real estate and distribution companies.
