This project will likely test your creativity. We are a high end, top quality, vintage (1950's)Volkswagen Beetle and early Porsche parts, accessories, and full service restoration shop. We are somewhat a "Monster Garage" shop doing custom work for high end clients, but only related again to VWs and Porsches. We currently do not have a website, business is busy as is currently, but a logo is the key first step before we design a website.
The logo should have a vintage 50's look, perhaps some limited use of early pastel colors affiliated with what you see in vintage automobilia advertising. Also, the parts and cars we work on are German origin, so the "Brezelwerks" logo should have some type of 50's look, perhaps with a slight German style vintage font style, but the cleaner the better. Our shop restores cars and parts to only their original stock factory specifcation, which is where we differ from the monster garage concept, therefore the logo should balance between that vintage 50's look, but also have a traditional Classic appeal, so that appeals to discriminating clients whom are about to spend sometimes $30K for us to properly restore their car. Our specialty car and primary focus is the 1948-1953 VW (rear splitwindow) Beetle, and therefore any other graphic associated with capturing or hinting about this model year car would be of high value to us. Another popular theme of the time
is similar to the vintage Harley Davidson or Triumph logos, with essentially flanking wing-like shapes on each side of the logo, or above and below the Brezelwerks name. The other last thought (can you tell we've been racking our brain on this logo so far??) is that the nature of this business is that the logo should be of high quality and scalability for especially being able to be printed on T-shirts, and scalable so it can be embroidered on polo shirts and baseball caps. People should want to be seen wearing this logo on some type of apparel. So, that should give you some ideas, plus checking out www.thesamba.com, is a great resource site for looking at splitwindow early beetles, to see their defining shape characteristics. Interestingly the shape of the early beetle is very close to the early Porsches, so there is a great deal of related shape overlap between the cars. You can also search on vintage Triumph Motorcycles, or Harley Davidson, etc. So, there you have it.
